Within the Denomination of Origin of Wines of La Palma, in the North subzone the denomination “Vino de Tea” is authorized for those white, rosé or red wines that acquire their qualities by aging in “Pinus canariensis” (tea) barrels. . This gives them their own traditional organoleptic characteristics. The oak or chestnut barrel has traditionally been replaced here by one made of this wood.
