On August 9, 1950 Valle Gran Rey left the motorsailer Telemachus. 171 canaries was crowded, mostly rubber and Republicans. Fleeing Franco's repression and misery. On September 16 these illegal emigrants reached miraculously La Guaira, Caracas, in one of the most emblematic episodes of illegal immigration from the Islands.
